Time of season for Peonies?

I was wondering what time of year is good to plant Peonies? Thank You!

Time of season for Peonies?
peonies are very tricky! you plant them in the spring as soon as the ground warms up depending on your climate zone. if your planting a mature plant you can expect it to bloom this year. if your planting a bulb it can take several years before the plant matures enough to flower. hope this helps!
Reply:I think you should plant them in the fall sometime, so they are ready to bloom in the summer... I am not sure though. Some plants are ideal for spring planting and don't bloom until the following summer after that... some good sources would be better homes and gardens or DIY. i checked real quick and fall is the best time... they are dormant now... If you have plants on hand that need planted you may be successful in planting now depending on your planting zone... good luck.
Reply:As soon as you can work the ground.

If you just bought them and the ground is frozen put them in a container until ready to plant, they will flower for you this year

They are very hardy and one of my favourite flowers along with Clematis
