Established peonies can they be moved now July? all I have seen say spring or fall.?

You can do it now but it will set the plants back. The best time to move peonies is immediately after the foliage turns brown in fall, which in Michigan is sometime in October. If you must do it now, I would be tempted to reduce the amount of foliage the root has to support without removing it all -- leave at least half of the leaves so it has something to live on. How much you may elect to cut off depends on how much root you can get in the root ball you dig up. It can be chancy so I don't recommend it unless you are like, moving or something and have to do it now. Water sensitively for the remainder of the season and expect the plants to under-perform next year.

Yes, after the flower has fallen or before it buds, But the Peony is the one plant that doesn't do well to transplant they are very finicky any type of cutting or uprooting any disturance can kill them or they don't grow back very well.
Reply:To be honest you should wait until before they grow leaves in the spring or after they die back in fall time. This will increase the chance of survival. Otherwise you may perminantly damage the root stock and they may not recover.
Reply:they should be fine to move now..just keep them watered weekly or 2 times a week depending on the temperature in your area.

leave the foilage on the peony...just like other bulbs/plants that grow from bulbs the foilage should stay on until it dies back for the year.

my mom moves peonies all the time and she has some that are huge...it seems i am following in her footsteps also..lol...i move things when it is convenient with me.

just remember that next yr they may/may not bloom..it can take a yr or 2 for them to bloom again

i live in zone 6, kentucky and right now temps are hovering around 90 and my mom just gave me a few more to set out...did this last yr and they came up but didnt bloom but there is always next yr
