Yes, cut the dead heads off the peonies. They will produce more and bigger flowers.

Yes, otherwise the plant will waste energy making seeds you don't want.
Reply:Just remove the dead heads.
Reply:yes
Reply:Yes you should always remove dead heads and foilage
Reply:Yep. Just pinch'em right off.

Deadheading helps promote new growth.
Reply:cut it completely down. it will come back .
Reply:It gets rid of the dead part so the plant can recover and reflower
Reply:I never have mine and we have had ours for years and it is huge. Others are suggesting you do, so I guess it can't hurt either way. We cut ours back in the fall and it always shots right back up in the spring. Went from a .75 cent 1/2 dead plant to a huge bush now.
Reply:You can clip them, but if you forget nature will take care of the dried out element.
Reply:Why have your Ponies got dead heads!!......RSPCA??...
Reply:I just let mine go the way they are with the dead buds on them. I just leave the dead buds on there, I have never had a problem.
