Wedding colors?

i want to have a very formal wedding. black bridesmaid dresses and hot pink roses and peonies with a lot of greenery. is it ok to have these colors in the spring? what about the fall? thanks!

Wedding colors?
I think that wedding colors should be whatever the bride likes no matter what time of year it is. Before I had to start re-planning(long story) I was planning a late summer/early fall wedding and using lilac and yellow because they're my favorite colors. Black is so classic that it will work for any season. If you want you can even give it a touch of spring by adding some lighter shades of pink to the bouquets. Congrats on your marriage.
Reply:NO black bridesmaids dresses ANY time of year; it's just icky. Weddings are happy occasions, and should have happy colours. Going with colour doesn't make it "less formal".
Reply:It sounds classic! For spring it might be nice to have bright pink dresses with a colorful bouquet. But it's your weeding and if you had your heart set on it, then go with it!!
Reply:I think its really fine. A short style would be very spring-like, but its really whatever you like. I just wonder if black will be available in a lighter fabric appropriate for spring? Happy dress hunting!
Reply:who cares about spring or fall! If you want those colors, then dangnabbit, you shall have them!
Reply:I think these are GREAT colors any time! pink is a great color any time of year, as is black. Hot pink and black look hot together! The black is going to make everything formal and the hot pink is the nice touch of unexpected that lets people know you are not boring. Good luck and have a great wedding-no matter what time of year!!
Reply:i really don't think seasons should have anything to do with your colour choice, these days anything goes, we are no longer bound by frumpy old traditions, so have fun with it.
Reply:In most cultures black is considered a bad omen. but if you dont believe in it go for it. In the spring pastels are more pretty, soft and fresh says spring. In the fall, more of the subdued colors like plum, wine or of the sort. Not to say that your colors are not good but when is your wedding?
Reply:try blue, or yall two favorite colors
Reply:It's your wedding-customize it to your liking! The colors that you mentioned do sound pretty. Congratulations and good luck.
Reply:ITS YOUR WEDDING! have fun with it!
Reply:Everything sounds great except for the black. I would try to find a different color to coordinate with the roses, peonies, and foliage. I just don't think it will work for summer. And even if it were fall or winter, I'm just not into black at weddings. You could go with a burgundy or red wine color maybe?
Reply:I think with a formal wedding those colors will look good any time of year. I always thought that using "fall" colors were drab, even if it were in the fall. And "springy" colors tend to shout Easter Bunny or a new baby! LOL! I think you are doing just right with that idea. Sounds very classy!
Reply:Absolutely!

I got married last month in a pearl wedding dress, and my bridesmaids wore black bridesmaids dresses (I let them select whichever one they wanted) and they carried ivory colored roses. The effect was smashing, and I would recommend this look to everyone! I guess my other color was green because the roses were long stemmed.
Reply:Hot pink and black with lots of greenery? Go for it!
