Peonies take patience. It can take a couple of years before you get blooms, and longer before you get many. You might want to look for a good-sized plant from the nursery.
Reply:They double in number every year. First there will only be one or two. Second year there will be maybe four to six. Third year there will be twelve to sixteen. I love them!!!!!

You can mow the bush down after it blooms if you want to. They come back.

You can stick white ones in colored water and watch the color rise up into the flower changing it from white to pink (red dye). Kids of all sizes will love it!
Reply:peonies are very beautiful and easy to grow, the only problem i find is you need to stake them after a couple of years growing because the blooms are so big that they get top heavy, they are available in several different colors also good luck
